ChessBase 14 in Windows Vista

Answer

As time goes by CB 14 installs from 0 to program version 2 without any problems. Then when you have Windows Vista an update is offered to a more recent program version. Installation to the more recent version no longer starts CB. There is the error message: Procedure entry point "GetGestureInfo" could not be located in the dll "USER32.dll". What does this error message mean?

ChessBase 14 requires as a minimum configuration Windows 7. After the support of touch screens was then integrated, more recent updates are no longer compatible with Windows Vista. Therefore the program cannot be updated to the more recent version in Windows.

The last valid versions can be found by clicking on the following links.

http://download.chessbase.com/updates/support/cb14_x64_old.exe  (64 Bit)

http://download.chessbase.com/updates/support/cb14_x86_old.exe  (32 Bit)

In general, as far as Vista is concerned all we can recommend is updating to a more recent version of Windows.
